In the story, The Boy Who Dared, the main character of the story named Helmuth Huebener was arrested and decapitated in some Berlin prison. Well it wasn't some Berlin prison, it was Plotzensee, a Nazi Germany prison/ concentration camp that held Jews and war criminals. The judge that convicted Helmuth explained " He had the cunning of a adult, he is not just some underage youth!" with pure rage in tone. Lets see here, a really old judge sending a 17 year old teen to be decapitated by his own contury wasn't the smartest idea Germany ever had now did they? Besides, a good half of the prisoners (2891) that were killed where Germans who resisted the Nazis in the first place. Helmuth wasn't the only victim in Hitler's spree of mass destruction, some say a good 4 million were killed on the process of his behavior. To bad Helmuth was only 8 when Hitler came to power. Still, spreading enemy propoganda wont exactly get you any where in life. The excution room wasn't really that big at all, but the property was massive. The building still stands today for the public. to behold. But the coolest thing about this prison, it is in the middle of a lake! How interesting, but terrifying at the same time...
History
Hitler came to power on January 30th, 1933 and controlled the government and Berlins people. He came into power completely legal but was a very antisemetic. So antisemtic that he made laws that would eventually push them out of Germany, or at least that's what Hitler thought. He found Jews hiding in floorboards, closets, and anything for that matter that can hold a man. Germany went into a Jew frenzy! Things gradually got worse and worse and worse. The worst part is, Berlin was where Hitler actually was and where he did business and made laws and etc. But after America and other Democratic countries fought for a long harsh painful war, we had won WW2 and made sure no one like Hitler came to power once again and destroyed not just Germany's trust, but the world's trust was at stake of being destroyed as well. This is a very brief summary of what happened during WW2 in Germany. If you want more info please look up the following site below the picture of the Plotzensee Prison. :D

The project part of all this
1. Where did the majority of the project take place?
The story took place in the format of flashbacks of Helmuth's childhood living in Nazi Germany, but the true actual story took place in a Berlin prison called Plotzensee
2.Explain something interesting about the location.
The prison that is mentioned is in the middle of a lake, just like the famous american prison, Alkatraz.
The Huebener Case is the most famous case of all time in that prison of course...
Helmuth was only 17 when murdered by the Nazi Germany government
3.Who was the leader of the contury at the time? Were they friend or foe to Hitler?
This one is tricky. Some say that Hitler didnt like how things are run and has looks, but more than likely Hitler was a friend to himself.
4.How was this place or when were the characters in this story affected by Hitler's invasion.
If Hitler came to power, a lot of people would still be alive and Helmuth, but not all things can change like that...
5.Was there others involved with his enemy propoganda scheme or was it just Helmuth?
Nope. 3 other boys were accompanied by Helmuth. Gerhad, Karl, and Rudi
6.Were their any other outside conturies involved with the book?
Yep, the Britain News about the war is what caused Helmuth to start making the enemy propoganda phamplets in the first place.
7.Who was the true antagonist of the book besides Hitler's Third Reich?
The Ghestapo was the true enemy of the book because they were the only real people to hurt Helmuth physically. Hitler hurt him more mentally though.
8.Of course, who was the true protaginist of the story besides Helmuth?
Well, his grandma really helped him when he was a child but his "grandfather" didn't really, but still did so at the same time. He has the personallity of for example, that 3rd uncle you have but don't really like because he gets in your face about little things all the time so.
9.Did this story really affect the rest of the world, or did nobody really care?
Of course not you dummys! The story really went home to people who have expireneced Hitlers wrath and helped keep that memory which in some cases was bad, but good too.
10.How did the author come up with this book idea?
She had done another Nazi related book before and once again stole the hearts of others with her new one, The Boy Who Dared.
11. What was the name of the prison Helmuth died in?
Plotzensee Prison
12.What sorts of things did the author acomplish through out her life?
She wrote lots of novels for the whole family, some heavier, some lighter.
13.Where/When was the author born?
November 18th, 1958
Harrisburg,Pennsylvania
14.If you were Helmuth, how would you feel?
Personally from my point of view,he has a terrible life, but learned to cope and teach everyone of his way and that would feel good in my opinion.
15.How old was Helmuth when he died?
17 years old...
16.How would you (as a reader) describe this book?
The mood was very dark. Even though the tone was very helpful feeling. It was like the one that just wanted to help.
17.How was the story, happy or sad?
It had a very UNhappy ending, which was sad due to the hanging or decapitation, which ever came first. Sad i know...
18.How did you think the author stratigized her book?
I think she meant for the book to be sad, but have a very strong meaning impression on others who read it.
